I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. Am I the only one who thinks they are DISGUSTING?!?!! They are so dry and flavorless, and they taste like cardboard... sprayed with chemicals! I don't know how you could 6 a day or even 3 or even 1, they are so gross. How can you guys eat them months at a time? Are your taste buds gone? Are they paralyzed? My cookies arrived with MOLD on them. MOLDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!! Does everyone who posted positively on here work for R&D? Are you guys employees? What is going on?!?

Actually, I'm sorry. I have to say that I was in a rage when I wrote that first post. I emailed R&D and they promptly apologized and issued a full refund.

This is her email:
I am so sorry! And embarrassed! We add mold inhibitor to each batch and it does look like we must have missed a batch of peanut butter.

We add a natural mold inhibitor to the dough, so if the cookies are made correctly, there is no way mold can grow. I have shelf-life studies going on for 11 months now and no mold has grown. We also make our cookies in an inspected, certified commercial bakery. We undergo independent inspections, daily monitoring, and weekly meetings of all employees on food-handling safety. Our employees undergo stringent health training requirements on food safety. That being said... I do know that if we do not add the mold inhibitor into to mix, the cookies will definitely mold within 5 to 7 days (depending on temperature and humidity). Since this human error is possible, I admit that is what must have happened with yours. Thankfully it is not common. We do make the cookies when ordered. Age did not cause the mold, not adding the inhibitor did.

Again, please accept my apologies. I have already issued you a full refund.

But, please do not feel like you have to throw out the remainder of the box! Rest assured that the "mold-less" packages are still good and you can still enjoy the benefits of the R&D Diet Cookie! It's just like finding a molded slice of bread in a package from the grocery store... you may be tempted to throw out the entire package but the store doesn't throw out the entire inventory on the shelf!

Again, please accept my apologies. I have already implemented a new procedure into our routine so that this will never be able to happen again.

Sincerely,

So that makes a lot of sense. I'm going to give it another try. The cranberry one is not that bad. I think you HAVE to eat them with coffee though. I hope this post is informative.
My apologies for the first post.
